About Us

Todd Bahan started Groundhog Landscaping as a one-man lawn maintenance service in 1994, operating out of his parent’s shed in Londonderry, New Hampshire. As the fledgling landscape company grew, he hired Groundhog’s first employee – his mother, Diane – to manage the office and the books.

After graduating school, it didn’t take long for Todd’s business to grow to become one of the largest landscaping companies in southern New Hampshire.

Today, Groundhog Landscaping does much more than lawn mowing. There are over 60 employees providing services in construction, excavation, landscape materials processing and delivery to residential and commercial clients as well as other landscape contractors.

In 2022, Groundhog Landscaping began creating their own landscape materials by processing loam and gravel on a 60-acre parcel in Chester, New Hampshire.

About Groundhog Landscaping Lakes Region Division

Todd recognized the need for landscape construction services when several clients approached him about providing landscape construction services at their summer homes in the Lake Winnipesaukee area.

While there are several large landscape companies in the New Hampshire Lakes Region, they are often booked out for the season. There is a real need in that area for a sitework and landscape company with all of the capabilities that Groundhog has.

In 2023, Groundhog’s construction crew completed a sizable project on Governor’s Island. Through word-of-mouth, the new business venture continues to grow.
